The stone building is old, the garden is serene and lush, and the family who runs it has been collecting beautiful things for a very long time. By day the garden is lush and shaded, alive with plants that have been growing here for decades. By evening, when the lanterns come on and the city quietens outside the walls, it becomes something else entirely.

The sitting room is not designed — it is accumulated. Red kilim sofas, hanging gourds, a samovar, photographs, lanterns, and a hundred objects collected over a lifetime. It opens onto the courtyard garden, so the line between inside and outside blurs.
